All 5 bedrooms at Haylock provide a choice of either a king bed or 2 single beds.

The kitchen is a dream for both cooks and chefs alike. Offering a 6 burner gas cooktop and huge oven—this will cook for a crowd. All crockery & cutlery and cookware is supplied. A full-sized fridge/freezer with icemaker and a microwave are provided. Just need to bring your own food & drink.
Opposite Mudgee’s iconic Lawson Park
Haylock is perfectly located next door to Cawarra and opposite the majestic Lawson Park. There is easy rear lane access via the back gate. Every 3rd Saturday the Mudgee Farmers Markets are held at St Mary’s Church grounds in Market Street—through the back gate of Haylock.
This lovely (circa 1926) home has been fully renovated complete with a new kitchen, 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is lots of natural lighting and the house has ducted heating and cooling throughout for your year round comfort. Ceiling fans are positioned in all the bedrooms in the house too. A secure and private walled courtyard is ideal to entertain and relax in with family and friends.

The beautiful Lawson Park is directly opposite Haylock with walking paths, BBQ facilities, Mudgee’s 50m Swimming Pool and recreational facilities to suit everyone. The Cudgegong River meanders through the park with lots of water birds inhabiting along its banks.
Lawson Park hosts our local Mudgee Community Markets every 2nd Saturday and in St Mary’s Catholic Church grounds, on the corner of Church & Short Streets, just a short walk out the back gate, hosts Mudgee’s Farmers Markets every 3rd Saturday. With local produce, arts & crafts, second hand stalls, and much more.

We can also offer a direct payment with a 25% non-refundable deposit paid through a vendor invoice. This eliminates the service fees charged by the commercial sites.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME COMFORTS
A Touch of History...Haylock
Built after the First World War, Haylock retains its historical character with its high ceilings, timber fret work in the entrance way, a cute little double sided hutch for bread/milk deliveries and original lead light windows.
Having had many families live in this lovely old home. Renovated in 2017 with five central rooms turned into just two large living spaces, new bathrooms, kitchen and a 5th bedroom extension.
One resident was Douglass Hinton Baglin, a prolific international photographer, filmmaker and author from 2002 to October 2010. One of his first commissions was as part of Sir Edward Hallstrom’s 1959 expedition, where he filmed the first European contact with New Guinea’s pygmies in Jimmi River Valley.
He was Australia’s official photographer for The America’s Cup Challenge in 1967 and his work has been published in Life, National Geographic and Bunte of Germany. More than 80 books feature his photos, including Sandstone Sydney and Dinky-di Dunnies.

Complemented with Cawarra next door, Haylock offers guests staying the chance to all stay together in close proximity to the centre of town and with all the creature comforts of home. We commenced renovating this lovely old home in February 2017 and finished 1 year later in February 2018. We undertook this project with consideration to its heritage, style and location.
